PARENT FAQs

Do you offer part-time care?
Yes. Please contact our office for further information.

How do I know my child is safe at school?
The only entry to the campus is through the front door which is locked and is guarded by our security 24/7.  Additionally, there is a six foot wall surrounding the playground and the entire school is covered with CCTV cameras.

Are all staff trained in CPR and first aid?
Yes. We conduct regular sessions with the staff on CPR and first aid. We also conduct fire drills every 3 months.

How much is the tuition fees?
Please call or visit the school for current rates.

Does my child have to be potty trained?
For Pre nursery children,  potty training is started after the child is settled in the school and is comfortable with our teachers. We will inform you and the same pattern needs to be followed back home. Nursery children have to be potty trained before they attend school.

What are the ratios of children to teachers? What are the total class sizes?
The ratio is determined by the age of the children and the size of the classroom.
In the 2-year old class, the ratio is 6:1, with 12 children and 2 teachers.
In the 3 year old classroom, the ratio is 8:1 with 2 teachers (the maximum class size for that room is 18 children)

My child does not speak English. How do you work with children who are not native English speakers?
It is not unusual for us to have children start with us who do not speak English.  Our caring teachers are adept at making each child feel welcome and included in all activities, and parents will notice a burst of language early on.  Children learn languages quickly, and our teachers are proficient in encouraging children to gradually begin to express themselves confidently.

Do you offer a sibling or family discount?
Yes. A five percent discount is applied to all siblings after the first child.

What are the staff qualifications?
Core teachers are chosen based on years of experience in a Preschool or Montessori school. Most of them hold degrees in early childhood education or a related field.
Associate teachers must meet our basic requirement of diploma in early childhood education. All teaching teams function as equals; co-teaching and sharing the responsibilities of the classroom are essential components to our integrated curriculum.

Do you have ongoing trainings for the staff?
We believe that it is important for our teaching staff to be dedicated learners themselves, and we provide numerous opportunities for continuing education and professional development throughout the year, including trainings, conferences, mentoring and classes, as well as CPR and First Aid certification.

How do I enroll my child?
You may pick up an application in person from our office. We require a personal meeting and play-date with your child prior to being accepted to The GreenHouse International Preschool.

Is there an orientation before school starts?
We offer a Parent Orientation Open House  start of school.  This is a great opportunity for new and returning families to meet their new teachers and explore their new rooms.  Please note that the teachers will be working on preparing the rooms for the first day of school, and they will not “look ready” at the time of the open house.

 How do you handle allergies?
Please remember to alert us to any food allergies.  We will offer children alternative snacks if necessary.  This is one of the reasons why we do not allow children to share their food.
We post a list of children with allergies in each classroom so that all of the staff is aware of the precautions that need to be taken to protect our children.
